Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose. Wait at least 30 minutes after taking Prevacid before you take sucralfate. This medicine can cause diarrhea, which may be a sign of a new infection. If you have diarrhea that is watery or bloody, call your doctor. Do not use anti-diarrhea medicine unless your doctor tells you to. This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur.

Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088. Doses up to 90 mg orally 2 times a day have been used. The manufacturer reports that some patients have been treated continuously for as long as four years. Triple therapy: Prevacid 30 mg is combined with 1 g of amoxicillin and 500 mg of clarithromycin given orally every 12 hours for 10 or 14 days. Most investigators recommend treatment with at least two antimicrobial agents in order to achieve eradication.

These discoveries have led to many current and former consumers of the drug to begin investigating the potential of filing dangerous drug lawsuits against drug manufacturer, Takeda Pharmaceuticals. While lawsuits for other PPI drugs have been filed with some being consolidated under multi-district litigation, Prevacid lawsuits have yet to enter a consolidation phase.

However, Prevacid consumers can still contact a dangerous drug attorney to begin the process of filing a lawsuit against Takeda Pharmaceuticals.

With Prevacid lawsuits not yet entering major consolidation phases, no settlements have been publicly offered by Takeda Pharmaceuticals. Although no settlements have been offered, the nature of the drug and its complications means that any future settlements will likely be substantial. As more lawsuits are filed, citing kidney complications or any other related side effects, the likelihood of Takeda issuing a settlement offer will increase.

Because Prevacid lawsuits have yet to enter major consolidation or settlement stages, it is difficult to estimate what potential settlement figures could be.

However, the nature of the lawsuits means that future settlements will likely provide compensation for the following:As of August 2016, Takeda Pharmaceuticals has yet to offer any Prevacid lawsuit plaintiffs a settlement offer.

With kidney complication lawsuits just recently moving past the investigatory stage of the legal process, it may be some time before plaintiffs begin fielding settlement offers. In order to maximize an individuals ability to receive a future Prevacid settlement, it is recommended that victims begin the preceding lawsuit filing process as soon as possible.

In doing so, victims will be able to take advantage of a greater degree of flexibility and investigation time before any settlement decisions need to be made.

Still, I would not recommend ceasing the drug unilaterally. The e-sphincter may mature by 4-5 months I don't know that, but I assume that's what you're referring tobut plenty of people with mature sphincters still suffer from acid reflux because of overproduction of acid. The immaturity of the valve mechanism in the esophagus is only part of the cause of acid reflux in babies, as I understand it.

Prevacid helps because it inhibits acid production, so that when the sphincter opens as it has to many times even in the normal course of digestionless acid is kicked into the esophagus. Further, my understanding from our pediatric GI was that long-term Prevacid use did not have substantial side effects.

So the downside of discontinuing your baby's meds on your own is substantially greater than the downside of continuing him on them.
