What is Ilosone?
Ilosone is a macrolide antibiotic, very effective in treating different types of infections including upper and lower respiratory tract infections tonsillitis, pneumonia, Legionnaire's disease, bronchitis, pertuss and others.
Ilosone is effective against skin infections caused by S. The medicine is prescribed for the treatment of mild and moderate skin structure infections. Ilosone is shown to be working against erythrasma caused by Corynbacterium minutissimum. Erythrasma is a skin infection occurring mostly in patients with other conditions such as diabetes and obesity.
It causes brown, scaly skin patches. In the treatment of acne, caused by Propionibacterium acnes, the medicine is used together with proper diet and hygienic measures. Besides, it helps in clearing acne spots and preventing the further skin inflammation.
Ilosone is a preparation, containing erythromycin, and is prescribed for acne treatment. However, before the treatment of any skin infection, you should get a consultation of your doctor.
