Gyne-lotrimin side effects

The voluntary recall is being conducted by Ortho Dermatological, Division of Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical, Inc. Consumers should contact their pharmacy to see if they have the product that has been recalled.

Suggested periods of therapy are 2 to 4 weeks for tinea corporis and 4 to 6 weeks for tinea capitis. For tinea capitis caused by Microspoium canis or Microsporum audouinii, 3000 to 4000 mg PO of microsize griseofulvin as a single dose or in divided doses over 24 hours has been used, with a repeat dose in 3 to 4 weeks if necessary.

Dosage varies with formulation. Periodically assess both hepatic and renal function during griseofulvin therapy. Griseofulvin is contraindicated in patients with a previous hypersensitivity to the drug.
