Cyklokapron tranexamic acid is used to treat bleeding or prevent the risk of bleeding in menorrhagia, metrorrhagia, nasal bleeding, pulmonary bleeding, gastrointestinal bleeding, hematuria, bleeding during and after prostate surgery, bleeding after tonsillectomy, tooth extraction, bleeding during and after gynecological surgery and other surgical interventions, bleeding during pregnancy, postpartum bleeding, tumors of the pancreas, malignant neoplasm of prostate, hemophilia, bleeding after prostatectomy, thrombocytopenic purpura, leukemia, liver disease.
It is used in hereditary angioedema, allergic diseases eczema, atopic dermatitis, urticaria, rashinflammatory diseases tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, stomatitis, aphthous stomatitis. The drug is also used for surgical manipulations in sepsis, peritonitis, pancreatic necrosis, severe preeclampsia, shock of various etiologies, etc. Some Cyklokapron tranexamic acid contraindications: hypersensitivity to the drug, myocardial infarction, acute venous or arterial thrombosis thromboembolic diseasesevere renal impairment, seizures.
Tranexamic acid may cause macroscopic hematuria, subarachnoid hemorrhage, coagulopathy in rare cases. Other antifibrinolytic agents should not be used concurrently with tranexamic acid. There is a risk of mechanical anuria resulting in clot formation in the treatment of renal hematuria. There were cases of venous and arterial thrombosis or thromboembolism in patients receiving tranexamic acid.
In addition, patients with thromboembolic disease may be at risk of venous or arterial thrombosis. There are no adequate and well-controlled studies of tranexamic acid in pregnant women. However, there is evidence of the absence of teratogenic and embryotoxic effects. The drug may be administered during lactation.
