What is Anafranil?

Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors MAOIs The use of MAOIs intended to treat psychiatric disorders with Anafranil or within 14 days of stopping treatment with Anafranil is contraindicated because of an increased risk of serotonin syndrome.

Taking smaller doses may reduce the incidence of seizures. Anafranil is not addictive. Suddenly discontinuing use of Anafranil may cause withdrawal, and dosage should be reduced gradually to minimize withdrawal symptoms.

How should I take Anafranil?

Abnormal ECG Anaphylactic and anaphylactoid reactions including hypotension Neuroleptic malignant syndrome NMS - a potentially fatal side effect of antidopaminergic agents such as antipsychotics, tricyclic antidepressants and antiemetics drugs that relieve nausea and vomiting.
